Elvis Depressedly is the project of Mathew Lee Cothran and Delaney Mills. They live in the mountains of Western North Carolina and are inspired most by the misty smoke covered mountain that can be seen from the windows of their home, and their modest southern upbringings, steeped in superstition and old time religion. Years of self released bandcamp material eventually led to the companionship of the band with Run for Cover records, a record label in Boston, Massachussettes who helped release their first physical LP, “New Alhambra” which was met with positive reviews. In 2016 they re-released 2012 cult-favorite “Holo Pleasures” with it’s new BFF, a 6 song companion EP, “California Dreamin’”. Stylistically Elvis Depressedly could be described as pop realism, coy and unbothered, but with a nod to the impending darkness that awaits us all.
